Kempes follow up their their debut ‘Sentimental Idiot’ on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant Music and last year’s ‘Yes No / Forever’ with a new two-tracker, ‘She Has Powers / For The First Time In My Life’ coming to Passarella Records in May.

Kempes is London-based producer and Passarella Death Squad’s founder Danny Passarella alongside Tom Wegg-Prosser of We Have Band fame.

Launched in 2015, Passarella Records is the home of Passarella Death Squad, The Future Has A Silver Lining and Kempes, plus Danny Passarella’s collaborations with the artists Perc and Oliver Ho. On this new release the Kempes duo return with more deep and atmospheric sounds.

‘She Has Powers’ features vintage synth lines and warm techno melodies, while ‘For The First Time In My Life’ delivers dappled drums and textured, melancholic electronica.

As relevant in art, as in music, the Passarella Records ident was created as a collaboration between Danny Passarella and Darryl Davis who created the iconic Ruthless Records logo alongside many other classic 1980’s West Coast record sleeves. And like previous releases this latest offering is no exception, featuring distinctive and carefully crafted artwork that reflect each track.
